Data Interpretation (DI) has been the most important part of CWE Exams. One reason Data Interpretation is tricky is because it has no fixed syllabus. Here we provide some tips to crack Data Interpretation Section of IBPS PO CWE. Data Interpretation questions typically have large amounts of data given in the form of tables, pie-charts, line graphs or some non-conventional data representation format. The questions are calculation heavy and typically test your approximation abilities.
ANSWERS With Solutions:
1. (A) [(45 /360)] X 100% = 12 ½
2 (A)
Let the total spending on sports be Rs. x. Then,
Amount spent on Golf = Rs [(36x/ 360 )] = Rs. x/ 10
Amount spent on Hockey = Rs [ ( 63x/360)]= Rs. 7x /40
Difference = Rs. [(7x /40) – (x/10)] = Rs 3x/40
Required percentage = Rs. [ (3x/40)/ x /10) * 100] % = 75%
3. (A) Rs. [ (50 - 45)/ 360) * 1,80,00,000]= Rs. 2,50,000.
4. Answer: (C)
Let the total spending on sports be Rs. x. Then,
Amount spent on Cricket = Rs [( 81/360) * x ) = Rs. 9x/40
Amount spent on Football = Rs [( 54/360) *x] = Rs. 3x/20
Difference = Rs. [ ( 9x /40) – ( 3x/20) ] = Rs. 3x/40
Required percentage = Rs. [ (3x/40/ 9x/40) * 100)] % = 33 1/3 %
Tips for Data Interpretation:
- Take your time and read carefully. Understand what you are being asked to do before you begin figuring.
- Check the units required. Be sure that your answer is in thousands, millions, or whatever the question calls for
- For doing well in DI section, one should be very comfortable with numbers, calculations, fractions and percentages.
- Try to develop shortcut techniques and approaches that will help you calculate in your head.
- DO NOT ASSUME information that is not given in the questions.
- Practice from a lot of sources
- Learn the value of fractions in percentages.
