ISRO Scientist Engineers Exam Patten Papers and Books

Indian Space and Research Organisation(ISRO) conducts exam for the post of Scientist/Engineer every year and this blog article is being made to provide you the prep materials for ISRO Scientist/Engineers written exam .Preparing for ISRO Scientist/Engineer exam requires knowledge of all basic fundamentals of important technical subjects of undergraduate course

ISRO Exam pattern for Scientist/Engineers:

It was very difficult things to find – I am not able to find any website which gives the ISRO Exam picture in detail, let alone the ISRO exam notification, which says  about the ISRO selection process: there would be a written test, followed by interview for those shortlisted from the written test.
However, based on the feedback posted in different web forums, the exam pattern of ISRO written test was found as follows

Total questions: 80
Time: 90 minutes
Marking: +3 for correct answer -1 for wrong.
There is only one section and the questions would be your branch-specific.

Prep Books for ISRO Scientists/ Engineers Exam

There are no prep books specifically on the market for ISRO Scientist/Engineers Exam. But since every PSU these days is taking the GATE route their engineer recruitment, I feel the following books on GATE for Computer Science, Electronics & Mechanical Engineering should help you in your preparation for ISRO Scientist/Engineers Exam.

AAI JE EXAM 2018 PATTERN, SYLLABUS, PAPERS & BOOKS

AAI Junior Executive Exam (JE) 2018 for selection of JE (ATC) and JE (Electronics) has been announced recently. Are you one of those preparing for this exam? If yes, you may have been searching for some prep materials to prepare for the exam - have you found those? I am afraid you might have been disappointed - the materials available on the net are too scarce and also whatever materials are available, are not authentic. It is because AAI in its official website has not posted that much of info about the written exam - what would be the Syllabus, the Exam Pattern/Format. I have therefore fished out the Syllabus/Exam Pattern of AAI Junior Executive Exam from under the hood and posting the same here. Also I am pointing you to some Sample Papers and Prep Books, so that you can base your preparation on it.

AAI JE Exam 2018 Syllabus/Pattern:

AAI in its recruitment notification has not said anything about the pattern/format of the exam bening conducted for selection of Junior Executive. However, I had dig inside the official website of AAI and found from its career webpage that the Exam Pattern of AAI Junior Executive Exam as follows:

The exam is of two hour duration and consists of 120 objective type multiple choice questions.It has two sections:
  •  Professional Knowledge Test: It has questions on your specialization subjects (as given in the educational qualification eligibility).
  •  Aptitude Test: It has questions on GK, General Intelligence, General Aptitude, English.
The weighted of these two sections is:

 Professional Knowledge : 70%  
Aptitude Test: 30%

This weigtage of exam sections for some posts of AAI is also 50% : 50%. So you should be prepared for this weightage also.

AAI JE Exam Previous Years Papers:

To know what type of questions are asked in AAI Junior Executive Exam you should go through some previous years exam papers. But there is dearth of such authentic previous years papers on the net. I could fish out following three exam papers for the "Electronics" discipline:

Prep Books for AAI Junior Executive Exam:

Airports Authority of India Manager (ATC & Electronics) Jr. Executive (ATC), Sr. Assistant (Electornics) Examination (English)

 Since the books specifically meant for AAI exam is very rare, what you can do is use the book for other competitive exams for "Aptitude Test" paper and use the GATE exam book for the "Professional Knowledge Test".

Books for DRDO Senior Technical Assistant Exam Preparation

Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) works under Department of Defence Research and Development of Ministry of Defence. DRDO works in various areas of military technology which include aeronautics, armaments, combat vehicles, electronics, instrumentation engineering systems, missiles, materials, naval systems, advanced computing, simulation and life sciences.

DRDO – Centre for Personnel Talent Management (CEPTAM) invites application for various posts in their organization every year. These posts include Senior Technical Assistant, Technician, admin etc.

Educational Qualification Required to apply for this post are as below:


1) Senior Technical Assistant-‘B’ (STA-‘B’)- Age of the candidate must be between 18 and 28 Years.
– B.Sc. degree or Three years Diploma in Engineering in the specified subject.

2) Technician-‘B’ (STA-‘B’)- Age of the candidate must be between 18 and 28 Years.
– Xth Class Or equivalent pass with ITI in specific trade.

DRDO -CEPTAM Exam Pattern: Eligible candidates will be required to appear for a Written Examination. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the Written Test will be called for Personal Interview.

NOTE: The syllabus of the examination will be based on the standards of essential qualification required for the post.
– The medium for Written Examination will be Hindi or English.
– the minimum qualifying marks in written examination is 40% for General Candidate and 35% for SC/ST candidate.
